Problem with new Military

I just ordered a brand new Sypderco Military from Warriors and Wonders in BC, Canada and the aluminum 'cylinder' of the lanyard hole is a bit loose. I was using the knife today and it was constantly sliding out. I was able to press it back into place using an awl, but I am worried it may work its way out again.

So my question is; does anybody recommend anything to keep it in place? I was thinking some blue loctite. Has anyone else had this issue, and what did you do to fix it?

Thanks

open the knife and assemble it back, it should be ok
the lanyard tube is glued to the handles , but it should stay in place if properly placed, even without the glue
or you could just send it back
(loctite is just for threads, it doesnt work like a regular glue)

Sending it back might be more trouble then it's worth since he's in canada.

Try a small drop of CA (Superglue) on one side of the lanyard tube.

Well, like when you roll-in a tube in a hole - you expand the tube from the innner surface of the tube outward to create a friction or stronger fit with the hole the tube is in.

Like a press fitting, got you.

No, they are actually stepped tubes, so they fit into the sides and expands in the middle for a tight fit.

Expensive knife like that, I'd return it. If you screw up the repair, then its your problem and they won't sort it out.

I would find something metal and cone shaped and put the knife on a flat surface, stick the pointy end of the cone in the hole... tap it /w a hammer a few times, flip and repeat. It will "flare" the ends out a tad and keep it from going anywhere without risking getting glue in unsightly places.

Same problem with one of my Millies, after having dropped it tail first onto a hard surface. Just to be safe, I used both methods:

a. A few taps with a trapezoidal screwdriver from each side, press-fitting the tube back into place;

b. A drop of superglue on the inside.

No more problems after that. Considering this was a brand new D2 Millie, I was pretty annoyed. Some of my Millies are quite old, but this had never happened before.

I know Jay is really good at Warriors. Email him if nothing else appeals to you and he will take care of you. I live just about an hour away and the odd time I've had a problem he just says bring it back. I gather you are out of province? It just might cost you one way shipping?

Thanks for all the responses! My first thought was to send it back and exchange it, but I am going camping this week and really wanted to bring my new Millie along for the trip and test it out. I did what archieblue and Crocodilo suggested and use a hammer and pointed object to flare out the ends of the tube. All it needed was a few good taps on each side and it gave a nice tight fit. Again, thanks for the help.
