Problem with Revolution

I just picked up a new Buck Revolution. Although not "traditional" in design, I think it fills a very useful role as a general camping fixed blade.

The problem I have is mine (and in fact all that I've seen) have a series of deep defects in the entire lower half of what is otherwise a fine blade. Anyway to get a blade that doesn't have the defect? and/or a place I could purchase another entire knife without the blade defect?

Hope somebody from Buck can help!

Thanks....

What do you mean by deep defects? Which part of the blade? A pic would help.

I'll be better able to help you with just a touch more info..

Jeff

I think you call them serrations.......

Not a very handy thing (IMHO).....I was hoping to find a way to find a plain blade......with a bit of humor...sorry for the confusion.

And thanks for the quick replay--nice to know that folks at Buck are listening.....

Now---is there a way to get a Revolution without the serrations?

Ahhh.. I got ya now.. I was wondering if you were talking about serrations.

Currently there are no non-serrated models. Let me look around and see if I can get ahold of a blade with no serrations. There are only a couple Revolutions around here without serrations, and one of them is in my pocket.:D

It's the only Buck I got that I don't really care for. But, WTH, I bought one retail when I saw it cause it said "Buck" and I had never seen one before.
Mine has the same 'defects' (serrations) as reported above. I think maybe I'll give it one of my loved ones to throw in their car for a seat belt cutter (that's when serrations are a plus) or to open a beer bottle with the opener.

ATTN: Chicken Cordon Bleu...this is an old thread. Just looking for what others thought of this (IMHO) novelty.

Yeah! He dug up that zillion-year old thread about the soldier in Baghdad who broke his Bucktool...I know you were ready to fly over there and give him yours... :p (I couldn't; I only have a Leatherman tool  )

Marvelous thread to resurrect, Goose!

It's the first time I've ever heard serrations referred to as a "defect!" ;)

Yeah, silly me, when i readthe first post, I looked at mine and thought, hmmm, no defects here. Then I read further...it's chockfull of defects!!! I always thought those indents on the blade were a feature!

Hey ChickenTrax, if you and Mr. P decide to go to Baghdad, and you're in da hood, stop by Damascus and get some steel for the Buck Custome Shop!!! Sirusly!!! They're still out of DM.
