I just purchased a Spyderco Chaparral with the CF scales and CTS-XHP steel (used, but in mint condition, factory edge, etc).
I noticed the tip of the knife is slightly bent. When I was checking for blade centring, I could see the tip was slightly off, but the rest of the blade was centered.
This occurs in the last 3/16" of the blade tip, and is not cranked, there is no bend line, just a very small taper.
Is there any way to bend the tip back straight? In my younger days, I inadvertently broke a couple of knife tips (Buck 110, Puma 470), so I am very cautious about messing the Chaparral up.
I thought to maybe sandwich the tip between two pieces of softwood (pine) and very gently bend in the opposite direction.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
