Problem with upgrade payment

I've tried repeatedly to pay for my upgrade to Gold and I keep getting this error message-

"The transaction resulted in an AVS mismatch. The address provided does not match billing address of cardholder. (27)"

This is even though I did not enter an address. I was a Gold member before, but waited too long to renew, if that helps.

What do you mean, you did not enter an address? You have to enter a billing address for the order to go through.
 
I tried that too- still didn't work. Also, I believe there's a FAQ that says not to add the address.
 
Are you located in the US? If not, you will need to use the old system for signing up.

The FAQ states that you will need to know the correct billing address for your credit card. The address has to exactly match the one you have given the credit card company. The FAQ states that don't need to fill in your customer ID (username), because the system already knows it.
