Problem with URL when leaving feedback

Could anyone enlighten me as to my problem?
I`m trying to leave feedback (positive) for someone I just finished a transaction with and everytime I submit feedback I get an error message saying invalid thread specified.
I copy and paste the URL from the sales thread and it shows up in it`s entirety in the field where it goes but to no avail. Every time I hit submit I still get the same error message.
What am I missing?
 
Now that you mention it I didn`t post in the thread (good catch CataD!). Never thought that could be it so I went back and posted in the original thread and now I get the error message that I did not `Choose my Feedback` and `Select trade Type`
Ah, finally got it!
Thanks for the tip CataD. The other mistake I was making - I was leaving feedback through my PM`s instead of doing it on the post.

Well, you do need to select the feedback (positive/neg/neut) and if you are the seller/buyer or trade.. ;)
 
I give up lol. I was able to leave feedback for my `Exchange` transaction but not for your help. I get the `invalid thread specified`
error message.

You can’t leave feedback for someone helping you. Only for a transaction happening in the exchange.
 
I can't post feedback for a person. Error says something along the line of I didn't start the thread, which I did.
So.....if I were trying to add feedback for a person who purchased a knife from me but did it all by PM and not on the original sales thread would that also prevent me from providing that person with feedback?
Maybe that's the issue?
 
Correct. To leave feedback both parties have to post in a thread in the Exchange section.
