Anyone have any issues concerning a transmission over temp reading with their Jeep and not being able to start it?

There are several issues that could be causing your problem. The first is a possible leak of trans fluid in the line. The second could be a corroded wire from the trans module to the trans itself. This could be the what they call the neutral safety switch. I have a 1998 Cherokee and mine had a similar problem and a replacement of the NSS was the fix. Expect to pay about $400 for this part including labor.

get used to the issues with those jeeps. i have had 2 and will not ever buy another. once you fix one problem a few months later another may appear. they are so hit or miss in quality its shameful. if you are above 80k miles go ahead and get rid of it bc the tranny issues are only going to get worse and you will have eletrical issues. thats almost a guarantee. i hate to say it but it is what it is.. good luck.

To be blunt and crude, I would NOT have a Jeep vehicle up my you know what even if I had room for a battleship! My adult daughter got the Jeep 'craze' a while back and now biterly regrets it. Things went wrong with her's that should never go wrong with any vehicle and she's spent a fortune keeping the abortion running. No thanks......

Jeep went to crap when amc got out of it. I own a 92 xj but its so modified its not a dodge product anymore. The best jeeps I ever owned are a 73 cj5 and a 43 mb those were some solid jeeps. Now my "jeep" is an American General....M35a2c
