Problems posting threads or long posts

For the past month, whenever I try to make a long post or thread, it just loads for a long time until I'm led to a "this webpage is not available" page. Its extremely frustrating and feels as if an actual restriction was placed on my account preventing me from making long posts or threads.

Any advice?

Thanks,
BN

Start with a couple sentences and then slowly edit the rest in.

Good to see the Anti-Giant Wall O Text add on is finally working. ;)

I can't tell if that's sarcasm or not, but my longer threads or posts are usually well divided and organized--not just a big mush of text. I did try starting with a few sentences then tried adding one at a time, but even then I was led to "this webpage is not available."

I've had that happen several times in the past - and I know it can be quiet frustrating. Its always with long, brilliant posts that take me a longish time to compose, which makes me wonder if its some kind of "timing out" issue - but I really have no idea. But yeah, I'm quite sure I've experienced what you are talking about.

I was making a much more important post than usual and was really put down when after all that time it wouldn't and still won't post :(

Follow instructions dude. Start with one small paragraph. Once that goes through, slowly edit in the rest.

When the brilliance starts coming down the fingertips and into the keyboard, its just not right to stop the magic in mid stream.

Finish your post and before you hit post copy your text to clipboard then you won't lose your original momentum and can cut and paste all day long. :)

I have indeed. I did exactly as you recommended and even then...it's not working. I also tried only editing a few words at a time...no results then.

OOOOOOOOOHHHHH YEAAAAAHHH.-meakos tip for young players-if its an epic do it in word then paste it. I've had it happen too many times . The most annoying bit is -"please log in" I"M ALREADY LOGGED IN YOU STUPID COMPURRRRGGGHAAAAAHHHHH.
glad I'm not the only one.

What forum is this happening in?

The gbu. I had this issue several weeks ago--my last attempt on a lengthy post in Heavyhanded's washboard thread in the gadget and gear section in the knifemakers area. I make short posts just fine, but it seems after I exceed a certain quota of characters I just get "this webpage is not available."

I had thought it was only an issue in the evening as I know others from what I read, that shared a similar of not identical experience. I tried again today in the morning and the afternoon though but to no avail. I tried posting on my phone and another computer as well, but no luck there so I know its not something wrong with my PC.

I have been experiencing a similar issue when trying to edit a longer post, I click save and it just sits forever till it times out, it will never let me save an edit, even multiple days later it s won't let me edit that post even tho I can edit other posts in the same thread.
All different forums, the only constant is that its always a longer post I'm trying to edit. No issues posting anything or editing shorter posts...

How long are you talking? Not sure what the cutoff is for post length, but judging from some of the text walls posted, it is well up there.

There is something to be said for succinctness.

It isn't terribly long. 389 words to be exact. I've posted longer threads with no issue previously. Its just the past month or so that I've had problems.

Alternatively open a word program and save your post in your documents, then cut and paste it into the reply window.

That is what I have attempting to do. I'll try starting the thread again today when I have access to a computer.
