Problems posting to BFC with Nokia Lumia?

I was thinking if anyone here has lumia phones? I reckon not many.

I have huge problems posting to BladeForums with my phone. Once I tap the text field to write, the keyboard pops up and then goes down right away. You can make it stay with really intense tapping and harrassing the field but it's not really fun.

There isn't really any viable options for alternative net browser as the phone is so inbred with IE and not much else.

I also am aware of the app TapaAtalk but I hate how it looks, doesn't load images automatically and crashes all the time.

I can't help you with WP8, but I can tell you that problems with forums aren't unique to it. On Android I prefer Dolphin browser, but posting on forums on it is horrible - sometimes impossible. The default ICS browser works much better for this, even if it's not my first choice for nearly everything else. The problem is that forum software like vBulliten have so much programming built into them and mobile browsers aren't up to snuff.

Tapatalk 4 works great on Android; sorry to hear that it crashes on WP8. Although it's growing, WP is still a comparatively small market, so developers don't spend nearly as much time or resources on apps for it as they do iOS or Android. It's a classic Catch-22. WP8 runs smoothly on specs that seem pitiful compared to Android phones that stutter and stall. But most people don't like the Live Tiles interface (which, rumor is, they're doing away with in WP9, and going with a more typical smartphone interface), so adopters of WP are few, and few consumers means few developers. That's why there's so few apps for WP, and often those apps don't have the full capabilities that the iOS/Android versions do. WP won't get a large following until they can compete app-wise, but they'll never compete app-wise if they can't gather a larger following.

Sorry I can't be of any real help. Are there really no 3rd party browser options? No Firefox or Opera?

Thanks for replying! There unfortunately isn't any third party browsers that I know of that are at least free to use.

I have otherwise no problem using BladeForums with my phone though, smooth sailing and all. And overall I have been really satisfied with my 620 lumia. It sound pretty wild - but I actually like the operating system.

I guess I have to download tapatalk for "emergency case" if I really need to write something.. but until then, I guess I have to wait for better days.

What about paid apps? I honestly don't know what's available, but if there's something that works well and only costs a buck or two, trust me, it's worth it. I know plenty of people who refuse to pay for phone apps, yet every time I see them they're drinking a Starbucks coffee or energy drink, or bought lotto a ticket, or something else that's mostly worthless.

I have a Nokia Lumia 1020. I have not had any problems with Tapatalk. As far as a browser is concerned, I use UC Browser and I really like it, although I haven't used it to post to forums.

Maybe they have improved the app since. Anyway, I tried bunch of browsers that seemed to appear since (including trial and free versions) and all of them seem to have the same problem. Weird. So can we conclude that it could be OS related problem?
