Has anyone had any problems out of the mini skirmish. I thinking about a purchase but looking for some feed back. This is my first post hope I'm doing it right.

The only problem I ever had was sometimes the grind would be a little thick. I have owned 2 and one had a thick grind the other didnt. Otherwise both I owned came with no bladeplay solid lockup and smooth actions.

Only have handled a couple (not owned), but I seem to recall some side to side play when the pivot was adjusted (possibly too loose) being mentioned.

The 635 has (had?) the plastic washers, so that could possibly be a reason.

BTW - I liked the ones I handled. Just a bit too small for my tastes.

I think it's one of the best deals going. Chris Reeve and William Henry make better knives, but other then those this is top of the line for production stuff IMO. I usually am only into CRK or customs but I really liked the 635...so much so that I bought one for my dad for fathers day. He carries it a lot and really likes it. It was the only knife for under $200 I could find that met my quality standards with a design that I liked.

While I'd rather have the Buck/Mayo 172 that I've been EDC-ing for the past couple of years, the 635 isn't bad. The only consistent complaint (I think its more a case of personal taste, but that's me) was that the opening hole was slippery for some. That is, that it didn't have crisp corners and so the champfering (sp?) caused some people's thumbs slip off of the hole when opening. Other than that, most people decided it was a better-than-expected quality piece for the price paid.

Let us know if/when you get it and how you like it!

I've heard some complaints about the clips. Apparentally they sometimes rattle and are flimsy.

Very cool knife. The later runs occasionally had a problem where the blade contacts that last hour glass spacer resulting in a chip...all the ones I've handled in real life (four or five) have been perfect.

The black mini-skirmish with blue dots is one of my everyday carry knives. I do keep the pivot loose and it does have a bit of side to side play because of it, but overall it's a rock solid knife for the money. You really can't go wrong with this model.

I always thought that was a case of the clip being considered weak because of its length. I could be wrong about that, though.

the slippery opening hole can be fixed by re-drilling the hole. look at the one I sold recently on the forums. It's a good knife that just begs to be pimped.

I just purchased the 635. The hole you use for opening is a little slippery. What kind of bit would you use to redrill this hole.

I have heard and experienced the blade coming into contact with the pin on the handle. It has in fact happend to mine. I avoid it by not closing it with so much force. Other then that it is a nice knife. Smooth opening & closing, no blade play, and good looking. For me the Mini is a good size (as I like blades 2-3"ish).

I don't own one but I have handled one many times.
Every time I visit my local knife shop I check it out, and I always give it a pass.
Why?
Two reasons:
1) The price is a bit too high in my opinion.
2) The thumb-hole!

My big thumb slips off the hoe without opening the blade about 50% of the time.
I also don't think you should need to re-drill the thumbhole on a knife in this price-range to make it workable.
