Problems with Canadian Customs?

I ordered a Ganga Ram from one of the threads here which Yangdu shipped out to me on the 15th of Jan. Tracking info shows that Canada Customs has had my knife since the 18th of Jan. and are holding it for review. I know Khukri's are completely legal here, but has anyone else had an issue like this come up?
 
I ordered an AK Bowie from Yangdu, only took a few days to get here so generally speaking I think Canadian Customs are ok with it. I have never had a problem importing a knife, but then as you probably know they seem to just randomly grab stuff to hold on to for very long stretches. I bought a watch a few months back and they held onto it for better than a month. So it can be frustrating, but I dont think it's any kind of problem. They just like to hold stuff for obscenely long stretches sometimes I think.
 
Do not Worry. I had a knife held in customs for 6 weeks. You should have no problem with that knife.
 
Fixed blades are fine. Customs only has a problem with it if it is a folder (especially the ones that you can open centrifugally). I remember trying to get two knives from Knife Center a couple of years back and had them seized because the cold be opened by a flick of the wrist. When I called them on it, they specifically gave me a long-winded and convoluted explanation about the seizure, but stated that fixed blades were perfectly legal as long as they were not innocuous looking (sword canes or umbrellas).
 
I've a number of HI products, and all have come through customs to me ultimately. HI knives are all well within the boundaries of CDN law.
 
NDallyn, I did a trade once with someone in Canada. They got a WWII and I got an M43. The 6th one to come out of HI IIRC and made by Kesar. The knife took well over a month to arive. Not sure who's customs held on to it. I thought it was lost for good so I forgot about it. Some 6 to 7 weeks later it arived safe and sound.

Keep your hopes up. You'll probably get it in the next few weeks.
