This is a rather simple story. A guy in Florida bought a burner from me via eBay on a Sunday. Monday was a federal holiday so it shipped out on Tuesday. The mailman clicked the wrong button and marked it as "delivered" instead of "picked up." That night I get an angry e-mail from 2 different people asking why their products were delivered to Altoona, Iowa instead of where they live. I wrote them both back, explaining that USPS had likely made a mistake and they should receive their items in a couple day. Now, the first guy was OK with this, but the second is apparently an impatient A$$ who promptly started a dispute with eBay. I respond with the story on eBay and never hear anything back. Two days later, he leaves me positive feedback(but doesn't cancel the dispute!) Yesterday Paypal(which sucks) refunds him the $70! Apparently, after 30 days, eBay makes an arbitrary judgement once a dispute is elevated.
The moral of the story: Never elevate a dispute to try to get it removed from your record.
Thanks for listening
PS I still can't get a hold of the customer, but I'm sure I will eventually.
