Problems with Microbar

I got my first MT yesterday, a manual Vector. I like the knife. Problem is that after a day of opening the thing (not that much either, <100) the lock bar is moving all the way across the tang on hard openings. It still locks up solid, but it is almost touching the handle and is somewhat difficult to disengage. Is this normal or do I need to send it to MT for a new lock bar. I am somewhat surprised that the lock bar moves over so far, as I have heard that with the thick microbar and the fact that it is 154 CM, these locks are very durable. Whats up?

I had the same thing on my CRKT Apache, I took it apart and rotated the stop bar until it was perfect. You can get it to change everytime you take it apart but once you get it, tighten her up and start cutting.

Not really an option, since MTs have no real stop bar. The thumb studs act as the stop.

Does the Vector have a little set-screw that holds the Microbar into the liner? I haven't seen a Vector, but my SOCOM Elite had a similar problem which I solved by tightening the set-screw slightly, and then Lok-titing the screw in place.

If this is a new knife and you are not satisfied, I'd send it back and let MT make it right. Early microbars had some QC issues, but newer ones seem to be "right on".

It does have the set screw so I am thinking I will try tightening it. Now I just need to find a flathead screwdriver that tiny.

Funny thing, this thing is dated 3/2002, so it is very new. I will give this a shot. Hope it works, cause I do not like the idea of sending a brand new knife off to MT plus $10 to get it made right.
