My Barrage full size would not stay closed without engaging the backup lock in the top of the knife. So i took it apart and couldent find the problem, so i untightend the pivot screw and turned the axis assist into an axis auto, but it has a little side to side play. If anyone knows how to fix the problem and turn my knife into a regular functioning one i would be glad, and i dont mean send it into BM ither cuz i voided the warrenty like an idiot.

Adjusting the pivot screw does not void a warranty. If you're having problems send it into BM. I've never heard of them actually asking if you've taken the knife apart anyway, I think that stipulation is just there to deter people from doing so.

my update- i was tinkering around and totally dissasembaled the knife, the spring was not inset correctly inside the knife. it was a hassle to put it togather so the spring didnt come out of place, but it works like new. if anyone has problems with there BM 580 or 585 and you dont mind taking your knife apart send me some messages. i may be able to help.

Now I have just the opposite problem I have a 6150 (auto mini rukus) and need it to be a non auto Ive tried just pulling the springs out and using it that way but with the lack of thumbstuds it doesnt quite work out so well. I dont know about the assisted blades from BM but I can tell you that the disassembly of the 6150 is quite simple (although it has WAAAAY too many screws IMO =P) and assembly is quite simple as long as you do it in a specific order (took a couple tries before i figured that one out)

Anyways didnt mean to hijack your thread just thought I would chime in with a simmilar issue (complete opposites are simmilar... riiiight =0 )

ya your right. if it turns into a help and mechanical discussion thread than so be it. were here to help.
