i just got a brand new PE Dodo with blue G10's and S30V blade. i love the knife for it function and marterials. i had some trouble getting used to the ruff edges of the G10. i was also a little down on the ball-bearing lock because disengaging it was tricky. now i'm down on the lock becuase it fails with a little bit of spine pressure. it doesn't take much and it just folds up. the blade is scary sharp and i'm sure i could lose a finger if this folds up in action. any advise? i'm bummin about this one. i was really excited about carring this knife.

sidenote: this knife is really awesome and other than the few problems i'm having with it i must compliment spyderco on an innovative offering to the proffesional hard-use knife community. i didn't want my above post to sound too negative. sal and the people at spyderco are welcomed to my money anytime ;)

First contact the retailer you bought it from. (assuming you bought it from one) If they don't go out of their way to solve your problem (like a good retailer should) Forget them, (permanently) and call up Spyderco Customer Service, they'll be happy to help you out.

Sorry to hear about that. It sounds like Spyderco is still working out bugs with the ball-bearing lock (from this post and from one or two others that I've seen).

Take Redstripe's advice, although you might just want to send it straight to Spyderco. I'm sure they want to get their hands on it as soon as possible so they can identify the defect in manufacturing and fix it. I'm sure if the retailer takes it back, they'll also send it to Spyderco, but I would assume that Spyderco would give more attention to the matter if it is coming from an end-line-user.

Sorry you got a lemon :( I'm sure you'll get it worked out but the wait is never any fun.

i am the retailer so i guess i'll help myself. :)

my only concern is i'm already attached to the knife and i don't want to give it up.

guess i'll take one for the team...
