Problems with my Pentagon Elite

Hello folks, I am fairly new to knife collecting and completely new to these forums. My Pentagon Elite keeps having problems with the liner lock not working well, also the blade is kind of loose. I have had the knife for about a year, and although I like it...I am not so impressed with how it is put together. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

The PE with a liner lock is a first generation model for this knife. Liner locks can be prone to lock-up problems. The issues you've described have been seen on a number of PEs and I've seen those be considered factory defects.

As with any SOG knife, send it in for warranty service. They have been stellar at supporting their products and tend to cover more product than they should (such as misused/abused/neglected knives). If it is found under warranty and not repairable, you'll likely get a new knife out of it (and it would be the newer, cooler ArcLock version!...silky smooth).

Thank you for that information...I may do that...it has been a continuing problem, to the point of not being able to even use the knife as it won't lock at all. Thanks again!

Wow...talk about great service...they emailed me today, and the lock is faulty. They are going to replace it with a new knife with an arc lock. I am really thrilled with such fast and great service. I will post again when I receive the knife.

Just got my new Pentagon Elite with arc-lock yesterday...what a great experience dealing with the folks at SOG! I will definitely buy more SOG knives...I am very pleased!

Oh...by the way I love the arc-lock...so much better than the old one with the liner lock...so easy to close and open....so smooth its "like butter"...lol.
