Problems with serrations

I have been using my CRKT Lake 111 and although it's a great light weight folder and classy as a penguin at a wine tasting, my only complaint* is that I am ruining the serrations even with light use. The most intensive things I have used them for so far are basic cutting of string and soft materials and catching them while whittling a few times. That much use should dull them, but they are getting bent and the tip of one serration has even broken off. It would be great if anyone could tell me if this is normal, any ways to stop this etc...

A few things to note are:
-I am a lefty so naturally the knife industry is dead set against me
-I sharpen them with a spiderco tri-angle
-I strop the whole blade serrations and all on an old belt
-I am young (15) but I promise you I know How to take care of knives... Usually :(

*other than that I constantly forget its not a liner lock :P

can you post pics? are they the regular serrations or veff serrations? sounds like, to me, they need a steeper angle...

Il post pics when I get home, I'm in history class •_°
For pics of the normal knife without the damage just google search crkt lake 111

I generally do go with a plain edge, I just needed a good utility knife to go alongside my strait edge knives for doing medical work

I got pics, there crap cause I took them with my iPod and a jewelers loop but you can see fairly well

temper might be bad, send it back and tell them the heat treat was done wrong and you want a new knife. soft string shoudl not knock off the serrations.
