Problems with Spyderco clips

After much consideration and research (some of it on this forum) I finally decided on a PE Delica with the FRN handle.

I got it Saturday, put it in my pocket and by Sunday mid-day, after taking it out maybe 6 or 7 times, the clip has bent up a little and no longer holds to my pocket. Has anybody else had this happen? Should I take it back to the retailer and see if he will exchange it or just send it back to Spyderco?

Any suggestions would be helpful.

I'd take it back to the dealer and see what he says, maybe he is a nice guy and will exchange it for you. This is the easiest way.

If he dosent, just call up Spyderco. I sent in my delica that had a broken plastic clip, and for $10 they replaced the plastic with a new steel clip, sharpened the blade, and gave me s 2002 catalog. My new steel clip has lasted me 2 weeks just fine. No movement or loosening in any way.

If you dont have their number go to the Makers/Manufacturers forum and Spyderco is towards the bottom.

I have never had a problem with a clip on A Spyderco knife. You can try the dealer and see what they are willing to do. If you get no satisfaction Spyderco will fix your problem for you. They have excellent customer service.

My delica has over 2 years of use, with no decline in clip holding power.

Were you wearing heavy sweats? I can't imagine that happening unless the pocket material was really thick and then you tried to clip it to something thinner. Anyway, the simplest solution is to remove the clip and bend it slightly with a pair of pliers.
