While working under a house my Dang twitch 2 opened up on my as I'm digging in my pocket. My lock doesn't work great and the slightest bump slides it unlocked. Don't like the knife.

How is the Flash 2? Any issues or complaints? Problems?

First thing you should do is contact SOG and get the twitch fixed under warranty. Then you can either keep it, sell it, or give it away.

Lots of people on BFC love to hate on the flash II, some with good reason. I carried one for 3 years every day and it worked great. Yea you might have some blade play. If you don't like plastic handles there might be an issue there.

Further, there are better options for less money. Take a look at the Ontario Utilitac II and the Rat 1. Similar but better materials for less money.

My little Flash 1 opened in my pocket, but I had it unlocked. I lock it now. I have moved it to my shirt pocket, as well.
I have the Flash 2, Aegis and lg Zoom. For the $, I don't think you will find better, lg, lightweight knives than the Flash and Aegis. They are limited though, IMO. I only use my Sogs for light-medium cutting.

I'm not super happy with my little Twitch II. The blade play on it is just terrible and according to SOG (I contacted them) blade play is normal in a spring assisted knife. Funny how non of my other assisted knives have any kind of blade play. That statement from them is gonna make me think long and hard before buying another SOG product.

Or perhaps research things a bit before you buy them. That is what I do with ANY product.

Jee that's funny I did some research and every review I saw said it had zero blade play... Man after looking through your posts you sure are one negative person and/or you need to take a Midol.

Nice, a menstruation joke directed at a guy, how original. You mean to tell me that every review of SOG SAT folders said there was no blade play? Are you insane?

To a certain degree blade play in the SOG SAT folders is normal, though I have managed to dial it completely out of several of mine but not all. SOG SAT folders are not a strong point for the company, especially if you care about blade play. They have still served me well. Given the right need I would buy one again (super lite lockable folder). That said there are better options out there for the money. To write off the entire company because of one knife that has a very well documented issue is just ridiculous. And so is your attempt at insulting me using a completely normal female body function.

I doubt it but you are the one that's insane to think I have read or watched every SOG review...

Maybe I was wrong on the whole Midol thing, sounds like you're past that and deep into menopause.

Meh...Childish trolling will be ignored.

That's funny, literally the first thing I do when I get a SOG Flash II is immediately disable the "safety" by jamming a small piece of hard plastic in there so it can never be engaged. If I want to reverse the procedure all I have to do is remove the plastic plug and the knife functions the way as designed. But I can't ever imagine a day when I'll want to reverse it.

That is a good idea. Though I have never had my lock engage on my Flash or Aegis series knives unless I engage it. I have had my knife open unintentionally though. This has happened only when I've accidentally dropped the knife. The Flash II bounced off the ground and snapped open. It was fine and I was alone in my kitchen so nobody got stabbed. There are certain social situations when this happening could have negative results. During those times I engage the lock.

The Lock on the Twitch is different though, and we have seen some issues with it.

Nice little collection of Flashes BTW. Here are my 2. My well used old Flash II and a somewhat rare unused camo handle.

Says the one with a history of trolling and that started the trolling in this thread...

I have no such history. Perhaps in your opinion, which you are entitled to, even if it is wrong. Since January of 2012, and in any of my almost 1,300 posts, I have not received a single infraction for trolling.

Dubbin1, what exactly have you done with your time here? Has it been meaningful? Have you contributed to this community at all? Please don't answer, it is rhetorical. I already know the answer to the questions or else I wouldn't have asked them.

I have carried a Blink for a long time. (no blade play) I too jam the locking thing up with a toothpick. I have only had it open unintentionally once in many years of use. I have had it lock way way too many times. I have a Flash & a Flash II too (They both have blade play). But, Never had a issue with any of the locks unlocking to easily.

I would agree with the previous poster who said to send it back to SOG. They are pretty handy with their replacement policy. Especially if it is a safety issue.

Good luck
