Process of putting a different edge on a knife (flat to convex, hollow to convex)?

For starters how do I establish a convex grind, hollow, or flat grind with a sanding belt (flat or round)?

Hollow is done on radius on the rounded curve of the sander? How do I determine how wide + how the angle of the hollow grind would be in relation to the thickness of my blade?

Convex can be done on all types of sanders? You just have to rock the blade slightly?

Flat grind can only be done on a flat belt of the sander NOT the rounded part of the sander?

How would you change from one grind to another? From hollow would you turn it into a flat grind first in order to make it a convex?

Are you asking about sharpening the *edge bevel* of a knife? Or are you asking about knife making where you grind the primary faces of the blade which do not do the cutting?

Brian.

If you take a look at the original grind of the blade. it is obvious that it is impossible to turn a hollow or flat grind to a convex or sabre one but it is possible to make a flat or hollow grind from a sabre or convex one.
