(first off sorry if this is in the wrong place, I didn't see a subforum where it would fit well.)

We currently use Paypal for our online store but we would like to expand out...instead of keeping all our eggs in one basket. We are looking for a service that will allow customers to use their credit cards in our shopping cart, without needing to leave our site. We don't want a service where the customer has to leave our site, or have an account outside our site to use the service. It can be a Paypal alternative, bank merchant account, etc.

We looked into Stripe and Braintree, and both looked good...but neither was willing to support the sale of knives.

Of course we wouldn't store the data on our servers, would use SSL, would make sure to be PCI compliant, etc.

To those of you using this type of service, who do you go with?

Thanks for any input you can offer.

Check out the Paypal merchant services section. You can get a merchant account if you don't already have one, link it to your check out pages, and your customers can buy your stuff using any CC you want without have a paypal account. It costs a few bucks, but worth it depending on your volume. Paypal merchant services is pretty helpful too. Just call them. What you're asking them to do is very common for them. I did similar at my work, and it's been great. Cheaper and easier than using my Bank's merchant processing system.

Thanks Planetcat but we were hoping to go with a company other than Paypal.
