Hey everyone, a company I work for is interested in doing a product give away on a 2hawks Warbeast tomahawk on their facebook page (his own page, not the 2hawks page). Not trying to start a ruckus so I was wondering what the guide lines for this sort of thing are? Not trying to post ads or anything. Still haven't convinced the bossman to get on the forums so just trying to get feedback on my personally favorite piece of hardware and a give away for others who would actually appreciate a piece of art like that.

Thanks in advance!

Any giveaway done on Bladeforums, needs to happen on Bladeforums. There is a No Solicitation rule in the Exchange rules, quoted below:
Asking a member to click on a link, subscribe to a channel or website, provide feedback, donate money or goods, or “Like” a page on Facebook is considered solicitation. Our members should not be subjected to this type of spam especially under the guise that they may win something. Spark (Site Admin.) does occasionally authorize solicitations for carefully selected causes. Persons seeking such an exemption MUST apply to Spark and MUST wait to receive that authorization before making any such posts.
There have been some bad experiences where members tried getting people to sign up for a giveaway, and the person holding the giveaway announced themselves (an alternate account) as the winner.

Hm that is crap that they would do that? Oh well I guess. I will pass this information along. He was thinking doing it transparently with winner tagged and pics taken etc. Guess I could see why some people might take advantage of that. Thanks for the info. If there is ever a give away for this forum I will make sure to go through the proper avenues.

Thanks.

Mostly, it was done that way (the example) so the person conducting it could pad their FB page and their mailing list. People do giveaways here all the time, no rhyme or reason for it, but they give away memberships, knives, sheathes, you name it.
