production/batch code inside the handle of my sebenza

I received my large plain sebenza 21 yesterday and noticed a code inside the handle : A 13
What does that mean?
The warranty card is dated june 2013.

I remember a topic i read some time ago about these codes but are unable to find it back .

They are in 4 quarters. A=Jan. Feb and March B= April May and June C= July Aug. and Sept and D Oct. Nov and Dec.

However. I happen to have a C 2012 Lrg 21 with a birth date of Nov 26. Dont bother me either way. But I wonder what the reason is.

i think the date code inside the handles refers to the date the handles were made and the date of birth is the date the knife was finished?!
I have the code A13 and date of birth june 2013.

I'm pretty sure it's in thirds, 4 months for each production schedule. I can't remember ever having seen a "D".....I could easily be wrong though.

I believe you're correct, I've never seen a "D" either.

I have had one with a "D". I will have to see if I still have it and post pics.


UPDATED:

I found the one I have. I have others, but this is the only one I currently have with the "D" stamp. This is a small sebenza with a " D00" Stamp.
