I posted briefly on Friday that the Bushfinger had landed back here in Cumming. I also said i was going to post some pictures of it since it's return.
Here are my initial thoughts...
~I am actually shocked that it is in such good condition upon its return. I mean you send a knife out to 10+ people and accidents are bound to happen..or so i thought.
~The only marks on the blade are on the spine from what i gather is from batonning. It does have approx. a 1/4" (at most) scratch on the bevel as well.
~I was expecting the screws to have atleast a little rust on them....Nope
~The handle & crenelations are in excellent condition
~The edge could be sharper...maybe it will hit the strop a few times

Thanks everyone for taking the time out of there schedules to be a part of this Pass-a-round.

As agreed we are going to be awarding a handmade Bushfinger to one lucky participant over the next couple days.

Good Luck!!!!!

Having beaten the crap out of one of these myself, I am not really surprised it looks that good. Not like we have NOZ hanging out in this forum :)

that's just awesome, can't wait to get my hands on one, one of these days!

I was really impressed with the production model. When I tested it I purposely put it through some difficult tasks that it wasn't really intended for and it held up beautifully. After cleaning it and lightly stropping on some leather it sliced through a tomato without any effort at all.

Cool. That was a fun knife to play with for a few days. What's gonna happen to her now Phillip?

Alot of good mojo in this knife. Would make a great superben! The shop does so much already though. I'm sure it has a cool fate in store.

No surprise to me at all. I have beaten the snot out of mine and it still looks darn near new!

I don't know anything about them. Who makes this knife for Andy? Or does it come out of his shop as well?

The steel is produced and waterjetted by Niagara Specialty Metals, Heat treating is done by Peters, and double disc grinding and bevel grinding are done by Larkin Precision. Scales are cnc milled by Nathan the Machinist at AIM Industrial, and Sheaths are made by JRE Industries.

We assemble all the blades here in house, finish the spines, guards, and edges, and check the final product for overall fit and finish. The result is a hand-finished knife without the inherent production volume limitations of the fully handmade models. It's a great way to get the performance of Andy's blade and handle designs, and the fit and finish of a handmade shop, in a knife that is made to take and use hard completely 'guilt-free".
