The Production Bushfinger from the pass around showed up on my door today. I took some pictures, mainly so I could package it back up and give the next guy in line the full impression, but thought you all might be interested in them as well.

Gotta have a knife to open a knife:

You've probably seen pictures of the packaging, but I gotta tell you, this is classy. The artwork is cool.

Even the QR Code gets in the act. It goes to www.fiddlebackforge.com btw.

I'm looking forward to a few more of these part numbers coming out in the future.

The contents:

Sticker (same as on the box), Certificate of Authenticity card, Warranty card, Silica Gel packet (DO NOT EAT), knife, sheath

Knife comes wrapped in tissue paper. It was mentioned previously that this seemed flimsy compared to the normal construction paper we're used to. Not a big deal, just different. Andy has said in the future the paper will have the logo.

SHARP

Purdy blade.

The contours we'd expect on a Fiddleback.

Some close up detail:

I've seen some questions about the texture on the handle. Here's a macro shot showing it. IMO it provides a nice feel and won't cause problems. More on that when I start using it.

Sheath is well made and fits great.

I'd be throwing a dangler on it and it'd be good to go.

I can't speak to the usability of the knife yet (that's coming for sure), but regarding the out of the box experience, the Forge crew and their partners have put together a complete package that's first rate. I'm looking forward to putting it through it's paces.

Wow. Those are excellent pics! We wanted to have the tissue paper printed with repeating Fiddleback Tinder, but didn't get that done in time. I can't wait to see the use pics.

Pics are awesome! Fiddleback really made a great presentation with these!

Excellent photos Nathan. Looks like a very capable blade, and I do love the steel choice on the production model. Overall that is a great looking package from the knife itself to the packaging.

I have yet to jump the gun on one, but I wouldn't be surprised for a few of the production knives to end up in my collection one of these days.

Nathan, as always very cool pics and write up. I like the close up of the handle contours.

Can't wait to see your user pics.

The packaging is impressive and the authenticity cards are a nice touch.

Nathan, good to see you with a Fiddleback in hand again and hope you get some time enjoying it.

Great pics, thurin! I think I might make up some sort of dangler attachment for the sheath.

Thanks Nathan. Those the best pictures that I have seen yet of the packaging ang the close-ups of the knife are spectacular. I am looking forward to your review after using it.

Just unboxed my production Bushfinger and have to say my initial impressions were the same as Thurin. The box and stickers look great. The sheath is a good fit (and I love the firesteel loop, just going to ad a dangler). The handle texturing is a really cool bit of machining (ball nose end mill?). The handle on mine feels great, and the scales have been ground flush with the tang. It came with a nice sharp edge right out of the box.

I'm really impressed, and I already have two custom Bushfingers (one is a rare handmade S35VN version as well, which I wish had a skeletonized tang to reduce weight like my production version!). I really recommend getting one of these, even if you already have a custom. Everything about it just gives the impression of being a solid user knife, and great value.
