Production Damascus Folder?

My 11 year-old son REALLY wants a damascus knife for Christmas. He has a small Case collection and I've found a lot of nice Case folders in raindrop damascus on eBay but they have all gone out of my price range, about $75. I don't want to spend too much more than that but would be willing to move a bit for the right knife.

So my question is, what other brands of production knives should I consider and is there a better source for one of these Case damascus knives?

Thanks!

search ebay for something like 'bear knife damascus', Bear & Sons makes folders in the same traditional patterns as Case.

+1 on the Kershaw Damascus Leek.

Here's a link to a thread with pics I posted of it so you can get an idea of what it is like - Damascus Leek

I have bought several MCUSTA knives from damascusknifestore without any problems. They aren't the fastest at shipping (like NGK, etc...) but I've gotten all my knives within 10 days.

Also, might I suggest one of the MCUSTA knives. They appear to be out of your price range, but several models are available right around $100. For the money these are great knives and they come sharp as heck.

Thanks for the suggestions gentlemen. I guess I should have mentioned that I'm looking for a traditional folder for the boy. I have both the Leek and MCUSTA and love them but they are both a little more aggressive in style than I'm looking at for him.

I'm still shopping. About to check out the Bear knives... More suggestions would be welcome.

lets see...I would suggest looking up "fox and hound" on ebay, they pop up every now and then and are cheaper than case damscus blades...Fox and houjd makes a large and smaller lockback knife in a beautifull damascus patern...Very nice!, They use to sell brand new for $25 or so,. but now they get @ $30-$40 or so on ebay the last time I checked....Im not sure of the fit and finish compared to Case, but they look nice to me for the money...

Here is a SWEET trapper for $24.99!
