Production Knife Question

Hello,
I have looked at some of the handmade knives on your sight and am very impressed. So my question may get some laughs. I have an Al Mar Shrike SKE-2 knife. What I think makes this knife unique is that the blade is engraved “003 of 200”. Is this a collector’s knife and would you happen to now the approximate value? The knife has never been used and is still in the original box.

A quick google search has other new in box (NIB) knives just like yours (limited pre-production run xxx of 200) for around $300. The regular production models are going for $150.

Generally no, it's usually just used to signify the first ones assembled.

I believe Al Mar had a policy for testing the market before he put a new design into production. Generally these pre-production runs were for 200. If the design got the thumbs up they then went into full production.
