Hi,
I know there are alot of knife makers on this forum.
I was wondering how many guys take production knives and just add there own little touch to them?
Maybe change the handle or the shape of the blade?
Just kind of tinker around with making a production knife some what of a custom?

I know of two people who do that sort of work: Bandit and Frank Recupero (you can see some of his work at BladeArt).

Here is the one piece of Frank Recupero's work that I have been lucky enough to acquire:

The scales are ironwood, the backspacer is horn, and there is beautiful file work on the liners and the back of the blade.

Just 2 days ago I got back my mini CQC 7 from bandit myself.See I like Emersons designs but don't care for the "chisel" edge, well now I have a double edge grind and some purple liners also.:D
