Someone with some skills should make some liners for the other productions blades... especially the duke. Custom removable scales would be sweet too. Then you could woods it with some micarta then chane out some sweet wood scales for dinner with the wife. [emoji12]

If I had the money to buy spares, I would have already sent them to Joe Snarski who has made a lot of scales for me for different knives in various phenolics including Shadetree burlap.

And to Denny Carey of Carey Customs in England who has mede several sets as well in custom phenolics, wood, and carbon fiber. But Denny's wait time has gotten pretty long lately...about 10 weeks

I wish I could afford to send spares to both men and see how creative they could get with them.

I've got to get one of your handled Tibo's Bri

And I'm really thinkin about a HB with liners. I've seen plenty of pics where guys made their own liners with the colored plastic notebooks.

Guys, don't forget, one of the main reasons a Fiddleback is so awesome is because of the handle shape! I think I'll stick with just liners to maintain Mr. Roy's phenomenal handle shape!

:) Will

This is very true thank you Will. I was hoping for the best of both worlds just knowing that Andy and co. have enough to do.

The Duke can accept the Walmart File card liners... Only tools used were 5/32 allen wrenches, 1/4 inch drill, small knife, and MAPP torch (optional)

Take it apart:

Fit the liners:

Rough Trim:

Hardest part is the lanyard hole on the Duke:

Give it a trim after assembly:

Hit it with a torch to seal the card stock -- it gets a little chalky where you cut it, but a little heat makes it go full color again and the white goes away. MAPP gas is too hot. Use propane or better yet a heat gun. Learn from my mistakes.... Use the heat gun and take a few minutes instead of reaching for the Mapp and burning the sharp edges on the micarta scales.

Give it a try. Worst case you are out a few bucks at walmart buying plastic index cards....

One of the reasons I was willing to suggest Joe Snarski is his ability to exactly copy the shape of the handles he is reproducing. Though in this case, the crenelations could be a issue, the overall profile and contours would not be a problem.

Do you think he can do a set of handles for a Survive Knives GSO 4.1 an a 3.5 in shadetree?

I think Joe could easily do that. The only question would be does he have them in house or would you have to send him the knife(s)
