Is there anyway to find out production year and numbers made?
Case in point. I had a guy tell me he had a Military overrun that only sixteen were released to the public. To me it looks just like other BATACs sage with green mags. Was there a special Military only run of these knives and if so could you document you had one? I bought it as if it was any other BATAC but was just interested.
Next, knives like Satin Jacks. When was the last time they were made? What kind of numbers? Was Urban camo an add on? I've got so of the definition and Pix sights but don't see this information anywhere.

To address the "urban camo" issue, you must be referring to the satin jack tac, the satin jack (original) didn't have that. Jerry made a reference to the number of those batacs that were available for the ganza. It was very limited. I am sure another Hog will be around to clear it up better. Just curious, why was it necessary to announce where you bought these? As well documented that is a no no. Where you got them doesn't seem to affect the the original interest of your post. Just wondering.

Also Badmojo.tv is a good resourse, as well as the bussecollector.com good luck!

Sorry about the origin. Wasn't trying to be a Butt just find that rule rather funny. If this site made money off of transactions I would understand but as it is seems kind of silly. Let me say again I was not trying to stir up trouble and have edited post accordingly. Sorry for the poor judgement and thanks for your help.

(I didn't see the post before editing, so this may not apply to this specific instance. ) In general, it's OK to say where you got something, even it was Ebay. You're not allowed to talk about Ebay auctions in progress, or promote outside dealers - i.e. dealers who are not Bladeforums members. The rationale is that a major benefit of paid forum membership is the right to sell in the Exchange. So Bladeforums does make money off of transactions, albeit indirectly. If people can post links to off-forum sales (on ebay, personal website, call their house, etc.) then they get to promote their product without the cost of membership. If there's no good reason to become a member, then the site loses money. Likewise, linking to non-member dealers takes business away from dealers who do support the site with dealer memberships. After a sale is concluded, the seller is no longer competing with the Bladeforums Exchange, so it's OK to discuss. (obviously different for dealers selling multiple items, but I doubt someone has a stack of Mil-overrun BATACs to sell).

Tohatchi is correct. The prohibition on auction discussions does not apply to those which have concluded.

And I'm not sure where the "16" number came from. I'd heard 12 before and 15.

I got several for show inventory, and from posts that others have made that number seems low.

How low, no clue.

It is a nice piece... I'm thinking about buying my last one myself because it is one of the best feeling BATACs I've had come through...
