Hello, the company Felix manufactures per model to 100 pieces with different handle materials.
Some steps are manufactured in combination with larger series productions. Other work steps by hand. It's a mixture of both.
As a basic dimension of our stainless Damascus steel is processed in the cross-section of 150x10mm. The punching machine like me, a huge part.

If this should be the wrong topic here, it must be moved.

Very cool. Are these special knife projects the only ones where they still use the old school drop forging machines? Most of the other videos that I have seen form JA Henckels and Wustfoff show them forge welding the bolsters on to strip steel.

jdm61,

as far as I know, the Solingen company produce fewer and fewer drop-forged knives.
Also company Felix manufactures more knives by an inductive upset forging. However, this does not work for the version with double bolster.

Natlek,

in this sequence, the hardened blade is straightened.
Clearly recognizable is the straightening anvil. A job that I did not want to do all day.
