To all forumites:
I wish to apologise for my use of profane language in a posting. I am very sorry if any forumite was, understandably, offended by this.

Yours, apologetically,
David

Apology accepted and appreciated.

One of the two rules we impose on forumites is no profanity and the reason is because we have many children who read this forum.

As those who have met me in person know I can swear like a sailor (because I was one) and often do but almost never on this forum.

Way to go David!!
I am as bad as the next one when I am alone or among men that use descriptive langauge, but I try to never use it in front of the ladies or children.

It's kinda like that 4 letter word that has becme so common among the youngen's the last few years.
I had to get onto my g'daughter for useing it in front of me!
I ask them what word they have saved up for when things really get bad since that one is about the worst I have heard and they use it in everyday langauge. Pity.

David, I'm glad to see your apology. Personally, my delicate ears are offended by anything much stronger than the very occasional h--l or d--n. "Darn" or "shucks" should well serve any properly reared individual to sufficiently express the highest degree of indignation or even anger!

Seriously, after four years in the military and 15 years as a cop, with the interim spent as a journalist, not much bothers me. But, as Uncle Bill said, we want to try to keep this a family forum. That said, I think it is very big of you to apologize and your apology tells me, though I've never met you, that you're a fine fella. (And there aren't a whole lot of us left.)

I'd guess that maybe 15 or 20 percent of our lurkers are kids -- mostly kids of people infected with HIKV. I know one son of an old customer often writes reports for school based on info he gets from this forum.

David had no way of knowing this and made an honest mistake for which he was man enough, to his great credit, to take responsibility for and to apologize.

My hat is off to David, too! He showed what he is really made of and it is something I like!

David.

You are a strong man! - our Prophet Muhammad SAW said: a strong man is not the one who dare a fight but the one who dare to confess and correct his own mistakes.

I say: nice words constructed with bad intentions hurts people more than profane words coming out spontaneously!

NEPAL HO!

Mohd,

Very well said, and very true!

Thank you all gentlemen, for accepting my mistake, and apology, with such good grace. There isn't any need is there?
I've only been in this forum very briefly. I feel like family already. Thanks again.
David
