Professional Sharpening - where?

Look in the yellow pages for knife sharpening. There are folks who travel around sharpening knives (for restaurants) and scissors (for barbers). If that's too much of a hassles (and it would be for me) spend $30 and get a Spyderco Sharpmaker knife sharpener. It is very easy to use, works well, stores in a small compact package, and most Sharpmaker owners think it is the cat's meouw!

Some knife makers offer sharpening services (Benchmade I think does) but you have to fool around at the post office and wait many weeks to get the knife back.

Take a look at the "Toolshed" forum (part of bladeforums). It has some very good knife sharpeners and gobs of good info.

I have a sharpmaker, but I also have a big khukri that's dull as hell, and I don't feel like sharpening it.
