Professional Soldier good bushcraft/ survival knife?

I would rank it right up there if the style of the Professional Soldier is what your looking for. Being of the skeleton handle variety, it is a little different than what some might consider a survival knife. If you wrap the handle, it is very comfortable, though wrapping the handle will not allow you to place it in its stick sheath. I partially wrapped the handle on mine with the supplied lanyard cord. Even though the handle is only partially wrapped, its pretty comfortable in hand. Are you going to be able to chop down a tree with it....?, No. I like it better than my Izula, but you could also buy 4 Izulas for what 1 PS costs. I got mine on the big auction site a couple years ago for $125, would I pay $200+ for it, probably not. I did a review on the PS awhile back and will post the link below. There are lots of pics. Enjoy !!!

I think nyefmaker is pretty spot on in his review. It is a great knife to strap to a pack, attach to MOLLE gear or (as I do) slip it in my front pocket. It isn't a bushcraft or survival knife but it is light and handy. Right now I am having a local guy make a custom Kydex sheath for mine so it can be worn horizontally on my belt.

rxgremlin, couldn't you just attach a simple kydex sheath belt loop or tek lok? or is there something that im missing.

I tested mine with batoning and wood carving/kindling and bushy stuff with some friends some time ago
it worked GREAT so if it's the only one you have it will hold survival use (not abuse) or what could help you to make a shelter and fire
the geometry it has is very well thought and crafted, it's solid and tough so no worries it could break if used for something else besides cutting light stuff..it's 4mm HT'ed steel, mid hrc so it should have enough resilience in the steel

mine only has the standard partial wrap, it's VERY comfortable, the most comfy skeleton knife I've held, nicely round with no sharp edges both bare handed and with gloves

I'd opt to something else as my main survival, bush, camp knife, like the KR Legion or others while the PS could be the backup or food, kindling, fine stuff knife
if you like it buy it, you'll be happy about it!
