Professional Sword Heat Treating

I believe Peter's Heat Treat does pro HT on big swords.

Depends on what I can get heat treated. 80crv2, L6, 3V, would be great. I already got a hold of Brad at Peter's and he said like 24" was the max they could do. He directed me to "Sabersmiths Attn: Tim Lawler" But the page I found was kind of inactive. If you tried to "contact" it was showing a 404 error. I would also be open to suggestions if anyone knows of an air hardening steel that Peters could do.

Matthew Parkinson, at Dragon's Breath Forge, will do it. He heat treated a Ming Jian for me. He has salt pots. If you want, I can give you his contact information. Or, you can look them up on the net. Tell him I sent you. He is a good friend, and his shop is 20 minutes away.

I will be able to do sword heat treating again in about 5 weeks. I have to finish a sword I am working on, and then finish building my heat treatment furnace.

The electric kiln I use draws more electricity than my workshop wiring can handle. So, I have to build a heat treatment furnace the runs on propane.

Let me know what you decide.

Awesome, I'll look into it. Thanks. Any idea ballpark what he charges? I'm trying to get a estimate for a customer.

Tim Zowada also offers heat treat in his salt pots, but I believe he's limited on length to like 32 or 36 inches, the last time I asked him about it.
