profile cutting 1/4" steel

i have been getting a few orders on my bushwacker model. the one in my banner. at 20"oal x12" bl. x1/4" i was thinking about geting some laser cut. i talked to terry at admiral and he said that he won't cut 1/4" with theirs. anyone know if water jet will work? and who? thanks

Another water jet company. I have seen them cut 1.5" thick tool steel which was hardened. The accuracy is within .005" and the cut surface is very smooth.

Hey now wait a minute....I thought the laser could cut any thickness steel at least up to an inch thick ??? even more ?!! what the / What about Plasma cutting ? I've been told it's nearly flawless and quick and will cut any thickness as well.

RDT: For thicknesses over about .125-.156, and for any fixed blade, abrasive waterjet is the way to go, IMO. Non heat affected zone and the accuracy is plenty good.
