So far I've got 6 profiled, and the handle blocks glued up.

Just updating. I'll try to post a pic later.

Can't wait to see ... :D

Of course, I would have to consider my own version the very epitome of this knife. ;)

...but it couldn't hurt to have a few co-owners out there. :)

6 Woodsmen. And one of a new design for a small knife. Today back into the shop to profile 6 more woodsmen and get all 12 drilled.

I know. I stink. Profiling is the worst phase. I finished profiling the 12 knives I wanted to, and drilled all 12 also. This is a huge step. Things are moving fast!

OK. Here are the promised pics. These pics are where I was coming into this weekend.

Now, this is what I did to the blanks this weekend.

And the Runt prototype blank with a Woodsman blank.

Oh you suck man!!! Now I need to get the Runt as well.

That design looks sick!

We'll see. Its another one I drew at work. Couldn't get it out of my head. I'm thinking of trying the Black Palm on it.

The blanks look great Andy. And that Runt seems like a nice design. Specs?

The Runt is small. Its 5.75" OAL and the blade is 2.5 ish. That blank is out of 5/32 steel.

Wow those are looking good:D:thumbup:

Ya know, I don't get out and about to stomp around the woods much these days. However, the Woodsman looks almost perfect for my kitchen needs. The wife was going to get me a 6" Shun for my birthday, looks like my culinary dollar is going to Andy instead;)

Hey Andy, how do you cut your blanks from the big piece?

I have an old chop saw set up with a fibre "blade". Like the ones for angle grinders, but 10".

This should handle a little better than a khukuri! LOL. (In the kitchen at least...:p)

I'm so excited that you're buying one!

Andy, you know how much I love HI and how much respect I have for Yangdu. That said, I can't think of one maker that I would be more proud to EDC one of his blades:thumbup: You're an absolute artist, and one of the most stand up guys I know.
I've just been kicking myself that I have waited this long to snap one up:D

The next step is designing a sheath that does such fine work service. It'll end up with a bad case of the uglies like all of my work, but I can guaranty that it'll lock the blade in like a vault. No way I'm ever losing this knife;)
