Profiled my first knife

That wasn't hard too hard. I used my portaband upside down to cut it out. Worked pretty well. Now I can really feel that the bump in the handle is inappropriate and will need to be trimmed down.

To the grinder and file next!
 
Looks good! Just keep feeling it in your hand and make the final adjustments as needed. Remember this...for me no matter how good or bad it turns out, I'm always thinking what can I do better or different on the next one. How are you going to grind it and what grind type are you going for?

Of all the knives I've seen profiled (mostly my own), THAT is DEFINITELY one of them!!!! GOOD JOB!

I'm glad you are planning to modify the palm swell on the handle. I agree, it looks like it could be made smaller. I'd suggest that you also consider starting the dropped point farther back, about by the ricasso, and GRADUALLY increase the drop rather than essentially rounding off the top of the blade. It will help it to look a little more graceful.

Hop on those files and get the bevels going. Yee-ha!
