Project 1&2 Sheaths, nylon nub vs leather strap?

I did a search for a comparison of the two sheath styles but got nothing, so here it is:

While shopping for a Project 2, I noticed that some of the older knives have sheaths with a nylon nub on the sheath while the newer ones have a leather cross strap with a snap.

What is the advantage of one style over the other? Why was the change made?
It seems to me like the old style sheath with the nylon nub would be easier to draw quickly from, where with the leather strap on the new sheath you'd have to unsnap it and then draw, making it rather slow. I have not had a chance to handle either style sheath, but could you also draw quickly from the new sheath with the leather cross strap? Do you just have to pull up hard?

I purchased a used Project I about a year ago, and it came with the earlier style leather sheath with the nylon nub. The nub did a very good job in retaining the knife but, in my opinion, made drawing the knife a bit awkward. I had to twist the knife away from the stud and pull it out of the sheath at the same time. That motion just didn't feel right to me and felt slow. It bothered me enough that I telephone CRK and purchased the newer style sheath for my Project I. Now that I have handled both sheaths, I've decided that I like the newer style with the strap retention better. For me, it's easier to unsnap the strap and draw the knife straight up out of the sheath rather than twisting it out.

I have used to have bouth sheats,
and I have found that I like old one more.
New one is so ordinary,
I would prefere old one,
it holds blade tight even without extra security with nylon.
I had never have problems with any of his sheats, they are bouth O.K.
that is just my optinion
sorry for my bad english
