Rehandle project of my vintage 603.
Kraton had started to crumble and loosen up on tang, making it unsafe to use.
I would like to say a HUGE thankyou to zanussi01 for his help with these projects, thanks mate!
It was his insistence that this knife not only could be fixed, but should be,and that I was the one to do it.
Rubber handle removed,choil cut in.

All the bits for the rebuild.

Cutting in of the guard, shaping the sides and thumb ramp.
I wont post all the pics I took while doing this, just enough for you to get the idea.

More shaping and sanding, all done by hand with files and sandpaper.

Great work Kiddo!
Now you have this one up and going again, does this mean I will now get my 25-5 back? ;)

Thankyou all for your kind words and likes.
Even though I have rehandled only a couple of knives in the past, mostly Ka-Bars,the 603 is special in that it is my own personal knife.
It has seen plenty of adventures, and a few misadventures, but never complained.
Holds a great edge, and easy to sharpen if I did happen to roll it.

Yeah mate, you can have your Randall 25-5 back, thankyou for the loan.
I know this might be sacrilegious to the Randall fans and uses, but I like my little Buck better!
