here she is............................ILL POST WHAT THE OWNER POSTED. MY PICTURES THOUGH
Well, some of you may still remember a post in knifemakre's section of USN with three of my designs. All of them quite cool as you said, but finally I decided to go for the top one. And also finally I decided that I'd like Brian to execute my new camp toy...
That was somewhere in May. After couple of months Brian sent me first email with two pictures, which you can see below... you can't even imagine, how happy I was! Oh, in the meantime we've changed the concept a bit, so now the grind allows for more gripping options and gives higher level of security for my fingerss ;D
And than... heat treatment. Quenching, tempering etc. The knife has been made of 0-1, so with good HT that can really be a perfomer!
OK, time to check the blade! Brian sharpened it to shaving shaprness and... chopped through 2x4. Now take a look and imagine the sequence: a) edge before chopping, b) 2x4 after some strokes, c) edge after chopping. Now that's what I call performance! Still shaving sharp! Notice that all chopping & shaving has been done with the marked area of edge only, so the edge really taken serious load of hits!
Time for blade finishing, temperline etching to make it nicely visible, etc.
