Project I question

I have been reading up on the project I. The blade is hollow ground I know. Is the edge convex ground? It doesn't appear to be in the pictures I've seen, yet I thought I read that it was- in Cliff Stamp's review perhaps. Adding to my confusion- the CR website recommends the use of a Sharpmaker. This wouldn't be the right sharpener for a convex edge. As you can see, I'm a little confused. Set me straight, please! Also, does anyone know where I can view some good pictures of this puppy?

The edge is just slightly convex because of the way it is sharpened. A sharpmaker would do fine.

Here you go. It's the bottom one. And, yes, the Sharpmaker works just fine.

Impressive. Thanks very much for the photo. One more question, how far along does the false edge run?

Project I on top. Click on the picture for the big picture.

And here's it's clip-point twin, the Project II.

AF, you're welcome. The swedge, or false edge, runs around the curved part and starts to broaden out at the top where it meets the spine. It isn't very long at all.

The projects can be had with or without the small serrations. James' picture has the serrations, mine doesn't. I have the knives in both configurations but only took pictures of the non-serrated one. (I don't know why.)

The serrations may look small and ineffective but don't let that fool you. They are very efficient and do not have a tendency to grab like some of the other maker's serrations. They are very well done, if one feels they need serrations.

AF :

[Sharpmaker]

This wouldn't be the right sharpener for a convex edge.

It certainly would not be what I would use as it removes the convex edge and replaces it with a flat ground one.
