Hello, all.
I love TRACKER / WSK style's knives very much.
Off cause, it is not only Beck's WSK but also WSK which various custom knife makers re-designed.
But, I have been pondering about why Japanese custom knife makers will not make Japanese style WSK for a long time.
Fortunately, my town is one of most famous producing districts of an edged tool in Japan.
Then, I started this project optimistically 6 month ago.
This project is making WSK of a Japanese style(means laminated wsk).
I ordered to 5 blacksmiths for 6 models.
Unfortunately, making Japanese style WSK is not easy, to say the least.
We had faced difficult problems.
Since the Japanese style used two kinds of steel materials, when heat-treating, a crack or deformation of hook/tracker point occurred by the difference among those contraction percentage.
We had to change steel materials into white steel from blue steel.
As a result, three blacksmiths canceled my order and one smith has tried to still make it.
If we used the clad material, possibly making became easy, but I had thought it was not Japanese style at least.
Although I had to give up many models, one model was done at last.
NATA TRACKER!!!
I named it JIBASHIRI.
Thank you for looking:smile:
