Greetings all.
Sorry for the large number of topics, just have something to demonstrate... and my bad english =)
I want to show you how I made a small series of knives.
Main idea was make average knife for comfort outdoor and urban EDC use.
Maximum of unpretentious, that's why i made choose to micarta, g10 and stainless steel, which you can sharpen up into fields without shaprening system.
For you it'll be couple of minutes and 15 photo, but for me it was month of life in workshop almost without any rest and in working in crazy temp.
Let's begin.
First, I drew a sketch and made a layout from the G10.

The result was quite satisfied and I've made a prototype.
I decided to use Bohler N690 stainless steel in this project.
So then the prototype was accepted, I took the steel to the Hydro-cutter and then quenching.
While the steel was being quenched, I glued G10 spacers to micarta.

Now a lot of grinding.
First i cleaned all blanks by scotch-bright and marked all bevel lines.
Cleaned all contours.
And started to grind 36 grit VSM belt.

80-120 grit belt and scotch-bright finish.
Main bevels ready, so i started to grind false.
And after all laser engraving.

Then a lot of drilling holes and preparation for glueing.
Too much of glueing...
I took brass, carbon, G10 pins and stainless corby fasteners.

Glueing took nearby 3-4 days.

Now it was time to form the handles and hand sanding all contours to finish.
I made one knife to the end, because I needed to know what it looked like.
Working without seeing the result is terrible, and motivation drops below zero.

And then time for sandpaper, files and a lot of dust has come.
After a few days of work i got picture like this.
Finished and polished handles...mmm...just awesome

Sheath time.
A lot of preparation before stitching.
I honestly missed the moment of cutting the leather, but cutting the leather into 13 sheaths and gluing it with spacers took me a whole day.
A day for stitching loop suspension to all sheaths.
A day for gluing, marking the seam and drilling holes...
This is how ~1000 holes and stitches looks like.
Nearby 75 for one sheath.
Goodbye my fingers.

After stitching i finished all sheaths edges by hand sanding.
Painted and all sheath covered by special leather finish.
