high school project survey for knife plz fill out i need about 50 of these filled out so we can accomplish our goal
in providing easier useage in pocket knifes.

my highschool is polaris career center its a technical school. im from ohio and yes english is my primary language
 
You know, Joe, ain't no reason to be insulting.

It's just a simplified survey, probably along the lines of ergonomics or identifying common problems for future development.

With 3 posts, a bit of enthusiasm should be given.
 
I was just surprised to see someone in high school who cannot write in sentences. I'm not trying to insult.

Some tools are hard to unlock when a tool is locked open and some handle shapes are uncomfortable

5. Are there any features that you would like to have on a multi-purpose pocket knife that are not already on it?

I can't think of any

It was far too heavy, and the tools were seated deeply into the handle with some kind of overpowerful joint that bent your fingers as you tried to pry it out.


5. Are there any features that you would like to have on a multi-purpose pocket knife that are not already on it?

Probably exists--but rather than a pocket knife with multiple dongles, perhaps just one with multiple styles of blade. Also, a decent grip that is not pill-shaped and therefore dangerous to use vigorously.

I seldom carry an SAK anymore because I bite my nails and can't easily open thumbnail nick knives anymore.

No, I actually like them a lot. Better blade steel and more locking blades, though.

Only ever had problems trying to use stuff in the dark. At that point I can either wait until it's light out or get a flashlight.

5. Are there any features that you would like to have on a multi-purpose pocket knife that are not already on it?
No. I think Victorinox does an excellent job with what they currently produce. I do not like Leatherman knives. Leatherman Multitools and Victorinox Multitools are fine.

I've owned multis with very stiff springs and liitle room to acces the nail nicks. I've owned multis with badly designed and/or badly made tools that would not work well. Since no multi I know of has glow in the dark blades/tools, I've had trouble getting the right one the first time, or being able to use it accurately.


5. Are there any features that you would like to have on a multi-purpose pocket knife that are not already on it?
A stamped notice that this tool is certified by law enforcement to not be a weapon so I can take it on planes, in court and to concerts.

A: SOMETIMES ITS HARD TO DEPLOY THE VARIOUS TOOLS, GENERALLY THEY NEED TO BE “PICKED” OUT. THEN, TOO, THEY ARE NESTED TOGETHER AND WILL COME OUT AS A GROUP VICE JUST THE ONE YOU WANT.

B: IF THE TOOLS DO NOT LOCK IN POSITION (WHETHER THE PLIERS OR VARIOUS BLADES), SOMETIMES USING THEM CAN CAUSE THEM TO SWING OFF THE WORKING AXIS.

C: THEY ARE NOT EASILY INDEXED WITHOUT VISUAL CONFIRMATION, BUT TACTILE IDENTIFIERS WOULD PROBABLY BE EXPENSIVE TO MANUFACTURE. ACCLIMATION TO THE TOOL CAN NEGATE THIS.

5. Are there any features that you would like to have on a multi-purpose pocket knife that are not already on it?

ACTUALLY, TODAY I CAN GET MOST OF THE TOOLS I WOULD WANT IN A MULTI-TOOL. THE DIFFICULTY IS GETTING THE TOOLS AND FEATURES I DESIRE ON/IN THE SAME TOOL. I’VE READ AND HEARD ABOUT INTERCHANGEABILITY, BUT WHEN I GO TO GET THE “EXTRAS,” ITS GENERALLY A TOO MUCH OF A HASSLE.

Currently use a Leatherman WAVE (old style) and SOG full-size POWERTOOL and OLD, OLD Gerber.

Have had Buck, Schrade, other SOGs, other Gerbers, and other Leathermans.
 
thx every1 for their cooperation n all the surveys have helped if ud like 2 fill out surveys 4 us u can but if not then no need 2 waist ur time bc we have got enough surveys to complete our ideas. we will try and see what we can do to better the knives ill let you guys know how things go along the process
