So, how difficult is it to get the Kami's to do new projects?

Specifically, I'd love to see a good axe and/or tomahawk and a Nessmuk come out of the shop (I know that Sarge has some Nessmuk experience under his belt).

Just thinking out loud!

:D

Well, have you ever tried to herd cats? How about cats that speak a foreign language? OK, in a smartass way I'm trying to say, "pretty hard". Successful projects have been done in the past, and I think the process is getting easier simply because the people on both ends of the process have learned more about how to do it right, but it's still not easy.

First and foremost, the HI shop has to be in good working order and not going through some major change like they are now. Second, a very, very detailed and accurate model of whatever you want needs to be made. This has been the big stumbling block in the past, one project hit a snag because the kamis replicated the model down to some unintentional flaws that the model maker thought would be understood to be mistakes. They weren't. Finally, as I understand it Yangdu will not do any more special projects without all money taken up front due to some unfortunate past problems with non-payment. They can't afford to be left holding the bag again.

I'm not speaking in any official capacity here, I'm just repeating some things that I remember seeing on other special projects. Yangdu has the final say on these things and I'm pretty sure she's REALLY busy right now.

I have received only one small shipment from the new shop and have not yet determined their capabilities. I have been in close contact with new manager Rajesh regarding quality workmanship and also I am going to have all Knives and Swords quality control checked here at Reno before offering them for sale so, until I am satisfied with the shop's performance I am not asking them to do any new projects. However, I very much appreciate your interest and please remind me in the future if you are still interested. Thank you.
