So tonight is the night. Girlfriend will be here any minute...

Using my Victorinox Soldier as the "Prom Knife".

Kinda classy, and it has two features that are necessary for any "Prom Knife."

1. Blade - Takes all the loose threads from the renta-tux.

2. Beer Bottle Opener - ;) For the after party.

I would suggest picking up your prom knife after you leave school grounds if you need it at all. Remember the prom is a school function whether it is on campus or not. Don't wait till your senior year to get in trouble over a pocketknife. :(

Good Luck with it. I'm one lucky mofo in school already. Had my Wenger Esquire on my key chain and i dropped the whole thing infront of a dean. He didnt see, so...

So ... did ya get lucky last night, Kevin? ;)

Been meaning to update you about that old Camillus-contract Buck Cadet I have. Since that thread you started, I've drafted it back into service ... very impressive little slipjoint, reminded me of just how good edge retention can be when 440C is given a good heat treatment. Reprofiled the sheepsfoot into a bit more of a whittler configuration, put a very acute convex edge on it; real wicked little cutter!

Imagine you're sleeping in late today ...

Dave,
Haha, lucky enough to have such a great girlfriend, but not THAT lucky. :footinmou Oh well, still love her. :)

Great to hear you are using the Cadet! The Cadet is probably my most used knife right now. Getting used as my house EDC. (I work at a gas station so my out of house EDC, Victorinox Camper, hasn't seen that much use at all. Camping next weekend should remedy that though.) Cuts through string and cardboard with ease. In fact, used it yesterday to open a pack of spring water bottles. :)

Mine is the 420HC but works great too. There is a thread on the Buck Forum now about updating the knife with different materials. You should let them know what you think!

No sleeping in late for me. Got home at 2:45 last night, but today is the 24 Hours of Le Mans!! GOOOO FERRARI!!!!! And at 2:00PM it was qualifying for the Grand Prix of Canada. (More cheering for Ferrari) :D

PWork,
Thanks, the Soldier did great! Saved the day when my girlfriend had a loose thread that needed cutting, and forget to add before that I also used it to take off those plastic wires that hold new socks together.

Sharpened it up again this morning though there wasn't really any need. Took about 20 swipes on the fine and extra fine stones. Devours paper... :D

Anthony,
Thanks for the concern, but I don't flash those types of things around. Carry my Camper to school everyday, and as long as your careful your chances of getting in trouble are zilch.

In fact, my girlfriend has a Leatherman Micra on her keychain which is visible all the time! :)

Garageboy,
 Close one! Keep working with that good luck.

If she's not giving you "any", then she can't be THAT great of a girlfriend!.:D.

"Prom Knife"? Why do I have this irrational fear that the phrase "Prom Knife" will show up in Michael Moore's next pseudo documentary?
