I just purchased an inexpensive ($3.95) bait and fishing knife with a plastic sheath and a blue plastic handle. For the price, it seems to be a good knife but I wonder how it will hold up for general use around salt water. The blade is marked "stainless steel" but the country of origin is not marked. It has a blade approximately 4 inches long and is listed as a Promar AC-103S.

Does anyone have experience with this knife? Where is it made?

i got a similar knife from the sounds of it at walmart and it worked decently well for what it was needed to do, at the time i was younger, itll hold up fine just dont put it away wet and make sure you rinse it off in fresh clean water when you get home. I used pull through sharpeners on it and it cut my bait perfectly fine.

Not 100% sure where it was made id assume china, and the steel is also a mystery steel but iv had knives that held worse of an edge *cough cough gerber fast draw*

Is anyone familiar with the Promar Bait Knife (AC-103S)? Very inexpensive $3.95 with plastic sheath and blue plastic handle. How well does it hold up in general use around salt water? Where is it made?

Based on a search with google.com, the knife is more than likely made overseas. There is no specific location listed that I could find. It looks like a Mora style knife. As to whether it's good or not, that is hard to say. It might be on par with Mora style knives. Try searching youtube for video reviews.
