Is anybody on this forum familiar with Prometheus flashlights? Does anybody own one?

While I have never owned one a Dark Sucks light, his lights are nice and functional. There is a fairly recent and comprehensive review for the Alpha Series light posted over at CandlePower Forums in the reviews section.

I have a hard time understanding CPF which is why i specifically asked if anybody on this forum had any experience with dark sucks

Well I have a one with a short body set to arrive tomorrow. It will have custom firmware so it's UI will be different, but I can offer up some thoughts on it if you like.

I have one. They are nice over built lights, they are a little big 18650 cell but I am waiting on any word of anymore short bodies to come out. I will order one for sure. Jason has the best customer service out there.

Hey Ericb, how big are they compared to either a surefire 6p older 80lumen size or a fenix 32 or a fenix t15? if you have hanlded any of those? I would love to hear your thoughts moshow, but I already have 18650 cells so I think the long body will be cool for me.

Even though I hoped for it yesterday, mine arrived this morning. It is in the brushed finished, and despite the smooth feeling (may be considered slippery to some) I find that I like it as a contrast to the lights I own. I believe Jason is offering cerakote options and this would provide a bit more grip due to the matte-like finish.

The short body has a nice weight to it, although not too heavy. I carried it in pocket as soon as it arrived. I can't comment too much on output as mine has a different driver to it, but stock should be brighter than those two Fenix lights and much brighter than the Surefire. The Fenix lights could be comparable in output if the warm XP-G led emitter is selected for the Prometheus. XM-L or MC-E will give it a nice boost over those two. What's gained in brightness may be lost in throw, as XM-L and MC-E will be floodier.

I can't help but think of the Novatac/HDS heads when I see the Prometheus, they are big! As such, the light itself will be bigger than other lights in the same battery class.

Left to Right: RCR123, IMR 18350, 18650, Novatac EDC 120T, HDS 120T, Moddoolar Pocket, Zebralight SC600, Prometheus, Armytek Predator

Lengthwise, the 18650 Prometheus would be a bit shorter than the Armytek Predator. Prometheus: 5.75", Predator ~6.1"

If you are okay with the length, I say go for it! They are a nice light. :)

That looks like an awesome light. If they had a shorter model I would get one for sure. Its seems to big for a EDC purpose.

It's about the same as 6xp pro that I have and olight M20. I'm out of town right now but will get some pics up before the weekend for you. Mine is very floody but has good throw. I should be getting an optic for it soon.
