does anybody know if they did any promo items?
I ask because I bagged a second cheap one off ebay which has just turned up. It has pouch, spikes, compass and a very rudimentary kit in the handle. unfortunately the compass was broken in transit when the seller packed the packed the spikes in there as well so beware!
Anyway back to question - the blade has a shiny area where someone in the past as tried to erase where the camel cigarette logo had been etched into the blade. Was this common? as the blade appears to be a second or is at least substandard as it looks to have slipped during the grind, leaving a different profile on either side and a slightly thicker tip, looking down the blade it looks like its been bent due to the uneven grind.
Normally I'd look at refinishing it myself but I know how hard buck steel can be so is it worth stripping it down and sending just the blade off somewhere for remedial works. I would send the whole knife but it gets expensive mailing from the UK.
Or should I leave it be as a rare example of duff busk workmanship?
