Propane forge issue

I have recently had an issue with my propane forge where the ventury burners are leaking propane vapors all over the floor of my forge. I suspect it might be due to the new regulator I installed having some type of malfunction. Anyone have this happen before?

Mix up a cup of water with a Tbs. of dish soap. Take a paint brush and check every fitting from the tank to the burner. I bet something isn't tight. Check allover the regulator. It may have a bad diaphragm. Also, check the burner fittings to see that nothing is loose or cracked. Make sure there is nothing blocking/plugging the burner tube, too.

Question: Is the burner running just as good as before?

I checked all the fittings while it was running today and found no leaks. I also changed out the regulator and the brick floor with a new fire brick. It is still shooting propane vapor all over the floor and destroying my fire brick floor. I bought a new set of burners and am going to change them out this week to see if that is the problem..... also to answer the last part of your question, yes and no. The second burner which I rarely use is completely clogged and won’t light. But the first burner is operating as normal.

OK, you're leaving out some very important details. What kind of forge and where is the propane leaking from? You have a burner that isn't lighting, is it shut off or just shooting out propane? How about a picture of the setup?

its a double burner oval forge made by Simond Store. The propane vapor is coming out of the front burner and spitting out inside the forge and destroying the forge brick floor. The second burner will not light anymore as I believe it is now clogged inside from all the propane vapors coming through the hose.

Also I wish I could show you a picture but this website seems to not be compatible with smart phones so I can’t seem to upload a picture.... or maybe I’m just hitting the wrong button and it’s user error...

Dave, let me see if I understand what you're saying here. Are you saying the propane vapors that are NOT burning (forge burner not lit) are destroying the floor (bottom) of your forge? So much so you've had to replace the floor inside your forge? It sounds like you're saying there are no leaks in the system, but the propane is coming out of burner in a normal manner, but not burning and this vapor is destroying the forge floor?

I jut re-read the first post and have the same questions as ken? How are unburned propane vapors flooding the forge floor? How is that destroying the floor?

Questions:
We really need some photos here. Email them to one of us so we can post them if you can't use a hosting site.

How have you determined that raw propane is flooding the forge floor?
Are you doing any damascus welding in the forge?
What type "fire brick" is the floor made from?
Are you running the forge too hot?
What brand forge is it?

Also, filling out your profile so we know where you are may help.

Let's give him the benefit of the doubt. I agree that the situation does not make sense as stated, but it could be a wording or even a translation issue.

I think we can consider this being trolled, as two weeks with no response from the OP.

The concept of a burner "spilling" propane into a lit forge and it not igniting is silly. Even if it did somehow spill into the forge, propane gas isn't nearly corrosive enough to damage refractory in this method. I would expect the room to fill up and explode long before the quantity of propane necessary to damage the floor would spill out.
